Frequently Asked Questions
Who is an ideal candidate for Collagen P.I.N. microneedling?
Microneedling is great for anyone looking to improve skin texture, smooth acne scars, soften fine lines, or shrink the look of pores on the face, neck, or body. It also serves as an ideal year-round maintenance treatment if you have had laser procedures like BBL HERO or HALO and want to preserve and protect your skin quality between deeper sessions. Because it works without heat, microneedling is safe for all skin tones, from very fair to deep, without leaving dark marks. We do not treat skin with active acne breakouts, open sores, eczema, cold sores, or while pregnant.
Does microneedling hurt during the procedure?
We apply a numbing cream for 30 minutes before starting, which keeps discomfort very low. You will mostly feel buzzing vibration and a light scratchy prickle. Bony spots like the forehead can feel a little more sensitive. The treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes and is very easy to handle.
What does recovery look like, and how much downtime should I plan for?
Right after your session, your skin will look pink and feel warm, like a mild sunburn. The redness usually calms down within a day or two. Over days 3 to 5, your skin may feel slightly dry, tight, or flaky as fresh skin comes to the surface. Most people go back to work the next day and can wear makeup again after 24 to 48 hours.
When will I see results, and how many sessions will I need?
You will see a healthy glow and softer texture within one to two weeks. Deeper changes, like softening scars and rebuilding collagen, continue to improve over 3 to 6 months. We generally recommend a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced about a month apart, followed by an occasional touch-up to maintain results.
What post-treatment skincare and aftercare protocol should I follow?
For the first 24 hours, use only the gentle hydrating serum we give you and keep your skin clean. Avoid heavy sweating, hot saunas, and swimming pools for two days. Put your regular active skincare products on pause, such as retinols, exfoliating acids, and scrubs, for 5 days, and protect your skin daily with mineral sunscreen.
