Who is an ideal candidate for dermal fillers and lip augmentation?
Fillers work well for adults who want to replace lost volume in the cheeks, smile lines, or jawline, or who want to add shape, fullness, and hydration to their lips. During your visit, we look at your facial balance so results stay natural. Candidates should be in good general health without active cold sores or skin flare-ups.
Are dermal filler injections painful?
Discomfort is mild and manageable. We apply a strong numbing cream 20 to 30 minutes before starting. In addition, the fillers we use contain lidocaine, a numbing agent that relieves discomfort as the product is placed. Most people only feel a light pinch and brief pressure.
What should I expect for downtime, swelling, and bruising?
Expect some swelling and tenderness, especially with lip treatments. Swelling is usually most noticeable during the first day or two, then gradually goes down over 3 to 7 days. Mild bruising can also happen. We suggest booking your appointment at least two weeks before any big event or photo shoot.
How long do dermal filler results last?
You see added volume right away, with final results settling in after about two weeks once swelling fades. Lip fillers like Restylane Kysse typically last 9 to 12 months. Firmer fillers used to shape the cheeks or jawline, like Juvéderm Voluma, can last one to two years.
What aftercare guidelines should I follow after my appointment?
Use cold packs on and off for the first 24 hours to help with swelling. Skip hard workouts, alcohol, and saunas for one to two days to keep bruising down. Do not massage the treated spots unless we show you how, and sleep with your head slightly propped up the first night.
Can hyaluronic acid fillers be adjusted or dissolved?
Yes. If you ever want to adjust or undo your results, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. It safely breaks down the filler within 24 to 48 hours.
